A New Orchard for the Queen’s 90th Birthday

Project Wild Haven, a community project based in Southtown, Great Yarmouth, opened a new orchard to commemorate the Queen’s 90th birthday. The royal birthday was celebrated by opening the Queen Elizabeth II Community Orchard and unveiling its engraved wooden sign, which was made by us here at Nature Sign Design.

The unavailing off the new sign we created was well attended, with people of all ages coming to see the new orchard being officially opened. A local Councillor, Paula Waters-Bunn, was tasked with the all important ribbon cutting. And this is what she had to say about the project, “I am honored to be asked to unveil the new sign for the orchard. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here at Community Roots and learning about what is being grown here. It is such an amazing asset to our community.”

A tour of the site was then given by project leader Steve Eastley, he had this to say about the day and the project,

“Paula did a great job unveiling the new sign and delivered an inspiring speech about what the orchard means to the community.

“There was a nice family atmosphere and the adult participants of the project were able to share their hard work with visitors. Wild Haven aims to bring local people together with nature, and this community orchard makes a significant contribution towards that.

“We are proud to name it the Queen Elizabeth II Community Orchard in honour of the Queen’s 90th birthday this year.”

We also received a big thank you from Steve for our services!
